Day 2... It's Sunday morning, the bench racing has already begun. the anticipation and excitement is so think you can cut it with a knife. I feel certain we will not be driving yet today, and yesterday we had a pretty causal day, Mike grilled up some burgers and brats, played some poker, some interviews. Today will be a more intense day it sounds like we will have some challenges today and will be out and about all day... They are not leaking any info about what to expect, and because I signed a confidentiality agreement I can't post much if anything about it anyway... sorry 
However it is great to hear that people are reading my website! couple emails and a couple calls prompting more info!
Unfortunately, It is going to be tough to post much else about the whole week because I can't report any results of the challenges, or races and such... I have some notes and will be putting up some stuff about what I can, thanks for your patients and for reading! and most of the posts need to be approved by director or team owner...
as soon as I know the air dates I will post it here and also email blast all my friends and contacts!

This day has been what I would consider typical TV time, lots of waiting, and a few camera shots while interviews are going on. We had a casual poker game and lunch, more interviews going on the rest of the day... It has been a day of casual relaxation but I am getting nervous about doing all the interviews and stuff. Should have brought my suit pants and dress shirts for the interviews but I've always been a more casual guy so atleast I am glad I brought some polo shirts... Because this is a TV show there are lots of requirements for logo's and such, and I am excited that I got a release for Pathways.com which is on my helmet, They are non profit lifestyle management seminar series that was designed by Dr. Phil. Normally I never really 'got' Dr. Phil, but after going through the 'process' I have tremendous respect for him and they were instrumental in getting my life in order...
Anyway as the days go on I can tell that the energy level is already ramping up, as of Saturday we have all the racers here but Chad, he is racing his sprint car saturday night in MO, the rest of us are getting put through the ringer with getting interviewed, and such. Anyway as interviews are progressing I wanted to keep up on some blogging, have a blessed day! |
Friday evening and I've made it to Colorado Springs, the drivers are set up in a great big house with 2 guys to a room, I am roomed the, first night anyway, with Jason who is also from Minnesota, that makes 3 from the North Star State. The house is near the Broadmoor Hotel (one of only a few 5 star hotels) so it is a very nice neighborhood. Tomorrow will be a day at the house here doing interviews and God knows what else! Hoping that we are all able to sleep well in a strange house on little beds. I'm also hoping I can get some time to continue to blog during the week, although I will not be able to post some things till later. As the drivers arrive during the day today, we meet and cover a little history on each other, some know each other, most are meeting for the first time. Team owner Mike Lee took us out for dinner on Friday night, only 6 drivers were there, one was arriving late that evening, and another is racing his Sprint Car in Missouri Saturday night so he will be coming in Sunday morning. I could tell that the energy level was very high, and everyone has great expectations of themselves this week, plus everyone is excited to get in the INDY cars!
